September 10th 2009 will be a day that will never be forgotten in the life of Ridgewood Community High School as it was day our brand new school on Eastern Avenue was officially opened with the return of the students after the summer holidays. Whilst it was sad to leave our former premises on March Street, it is envisaged that our new facility will become as much loved as the one we left behind if not more and that our students therefore will greatly benefit from the better facilities on offer to them. See Ridgewood on the move for more details.
Over the years these buildings have stood
Housing Calder View, Westway and Ridgewood
Over the years there have been many changes
To make way for pupils of different age ranges
Walls have been moved and ceilings suspended
Sometimes it seemed changes were never ending
Hundreds of pupils have come through its doors
Most were a joy, some were a chore!
But for each one the school did its utmost
To find a talent each one could boast
Teachers and pupils have come and gone
Yet the school kept going on and on
There have been many happy times, some sad ones too
But at this school we’ve all pulled through.
Mrs M Pate 2009.
