Ridgewood Community High School

Design and Technology is a subject that’s offered through all Key Stages at Ridgewood School. It helps children to develop a range of creative and practical skills using their own imagination and creativity.

Most often, they’ll design a product with the aim of solving real and relevant problems while considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. It’s the study of:

• Design
• Development
• Application
• Implementation
• Support 

It teaches children how to take risks, be creative and resourceful, and understand the impact of design and technology on their daily life and wider society.

In these lessons, they can draw on other subjects such as maths, art, science, or computing.
