Religious Education at Ridgewood

At Ridgewood, we have recently undertaken an overhaul of our curriculum. Using a thematic approach to learning, this enables students to deepen their knowledge on a particular topic and promotes transferable skills.

Our new curriculum aids us to develop student’s awareness of themselves, other members of the community and others in the world beyond. Students are encouraged to develop a way of searching for personal meaning to life.

On this journey, they will face life’s basic questions, challenges and take personal and moral responsibilities for the decisions they make.

The aim of the RE curriculum is to awaken and develop an awareness of the spiritual side of life. We believe it is important to promote awareness and understanding of different religious and non-religious beliefs. This will lead to a development in respect and tolerance towards the beliefs of others.

Religious education plays a vital contribution to the social and moral development of our students.
