Online Safety
At our school, the online safety of our pupils is a top priority. In today’s digital world, children have greater access to the internet than ever before—through phones, tablets, gaming consoles, and other connected devices. While these technologies offer fantastic learning opportunities, they also come with risks that we must all work together to manage.
We regularly educate our pupils on how to stay safe online, including how to identify inappropriate content, avoid contact with strangers, and understand the importance of protecting personal information. Our curriculum includes age-appropriate lessons on digital citizenship, cyberbullying, and responsible internet use. We also use secure systems and filters within school to ensure a safe browsing environment.
However, we know that online safety doesn't stop at the school gates. Many of the risks—such as access to harmful content, online grooming, and peer pressure through social media—often occur at home or outside of school hours. That’s why it’s so important for schools and families to work together. We strongly encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in monitoring their child’s internet use, setting clear boundaries, and having open conversations about what they are doing online.
We are always here to support families with resources, advice, or concerns regarding online activity. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need guidance in helping your child stay safe in the digital world.
Together, we can ensure that our children use technology in a safe, respectful, and informed way.

It’s also important to be aware that some emojis, which may appear innocent to us as adults, can carry completely different—and sometimes sinister—meanings among young people online. These symbols are often used in coded language on social media or messaging platforms, which can make it harder to detect inappropriate or risky conversations.
We recommend taking a look at the resources below to stay informed and better understand the digital world your child is navigating:
