School Lunches

At Ridgewood Community High School we believe that lunch is a special and sociable part of the day. We actively encourage all our students to lead a healthy lifestyle and as such as all our menus offered meet the government standards for Healthy Eating in schools and in some cases exceed them. We try to offer a wide and varied menu.

The lunchtime at Ridgewood is over two sittings, with Key Stage 3 students having their lunch at the first sitting and the Key Stage 4 and F.E. students having their lunch at the second sitting. Each sitting lasts half hour, with the students either enjoying break on the yard or lunch time clubs in their other half hour.

The school lunch menu at Ridgewood is run on a rolling three week basis, all our lunches are nutritionally balanced and are set to the nutritional standards set by the Government.

School lunches cost £2.70 per day and include a dessert. Payments can be made through the Arbor app.

Tuck Shop

Our Sixth Form students proudly run the school tuck shop, providing a valuable opportunity to develop independence, responsibility, and customer service skills within a supportive environment.

To support pupil wellbeing, selected items are available free of charge to all pupils. In addition, yoghurts and cereal bars are offered at breakfast time only to help pupils start the day positively.

Pupils can be signed up to the Tuck Shop Club via the Arbor App giving them access to a larger selection of items (such as hash browns and bagels). Tuck Shop Club is £1 per week and paid for in advance for each half-term.

Pupils are able to choose up to two items in total per visit. This can be any combination of paid and free items.

Payments for tuck shop items can be made conveniently by parents and carers through the Arbor app.

We are proud of the role our Sixth Form students play in running the tuck shop and the positive impact this has on the wider school community.
